Meet in the Gooseberry Falls State Park Visitor Center theater at 12:00 noon. The park is located 13 miles north of Two Harbors along Highway 61.
Learn about great North Shore day hikes in state parks, along the Superior Hiking Trail, and in the Superior National Forest during an intriguing presentation. Author Andrew Slade is eager to help you find great new trails to hike. After the program from 1:00 to 3:00pm, Andrew will sign copies of his new book Hiking the North Shore: 50 fabulous day hikes in Minnesota's spectacular Lake Superior region at the park's Nature Store.

Meet in the Split Rock Lighthouse State Park Trail Center at 10:00 am. Free park admission for everyone.
For one day every summer, admission to all of Split Rock Lighthouse is free. On Saturday, June 11, both the historic lighthouse and the extensive state park have free admission. Join naturalist and author Andrew Slade for a guided hike to the top of dramatic Day Hill. The 2-mile loop hike will go to secluded beaches and the panoramic views from historic Day Hill. Andrew will then sign copies of his new book, Hiking the North Shore: 50 fabulous day hikes in Minnesota's spectacular Lake Superior region, at the lighthouse Museum Store from 1:00 to 3:00pm.
